June 20th ⏰ 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM JASG Office Free Event
Japan is home to many kinds of “kawaii” (cute) culture! In this fun and interactive workshop, participants will learn about the history of Japanese kawaii culture, including Japanese idol culture and how “cute” became an important part of fashion, music, and everyday life in Japan.
After the presentation, we will practice the dance to “Kawaii Dake ja Dame Desu ka?” together!
You can watch and practice the dance before the event here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OU6KOfyrxZE&list=RDOU6KOfyrxZE&start_radio=1
At the end of the workshop, we are planning to film a short group dance video for Instagram/social media. By participating, you understand that photos and/or videos may be taken during the event and used for promotional purposes.
Please wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in — and feel free to wear something colorful or kawaii if you’d like! (Optional, but encouraged )
