Sakura Mochi Workshop

Sakura Mochi Workshop (Chomeiji-style)

Celebrate the arrival of spring with a hands-on Sakura Mochi workshop!

What is Sakura Mochi?
Sakura Mochi is a traditional Japanese sweet enjoyed in the spring, especially around cherry blossom season. It is a delicate pink rice cake filled with sweet red bean paste and traditionally wrapped in a salted cherry blossom leaf.

In this workshop, we will make Chomeiji-style Sakura Mochi (Kanto-style) together. This version features a thin, crepe-like outer layer wrapped around smooth sweet red bean paste — simple, elegant, and perfect for beginners.

After making your own Sakura Mochi, we will sit down together to enjoy it with Japanese tea.
Yukako, a certified Japanese Tea Advisor, will introduce the tea pairing and answer your questions about Japanese tea culture and brewing techniques.
