Tomodachi Club - Daytime Women's Cultural Exchange Group

The Tomodachi Club of Georgia was established in October 1981, to promote friendship, cultural exchange and understanding among Japanese and American women. Today the club has over 50 members, including active members who attend Small Group meetings as well as General meetings, and supporting members who attend only General meetings.

The Tomodachi Club currently has two Japanese and two American Chairwomen. Leadership changes are made alternately in order that one American and one Japanese remain with experience and knowledge to pass onto the new Chairwomen. Each Small Group has one Japanese and one American Group Leader.

Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month. Occasionally dates may change due to special circumstances. Small group meetings include a coffee or luncheon and either an activity, a program or discussion. General meetings may include an interesting trip, a luncheon or a special program. General meetings and Small Group meetings alternate on a monthly basis.

Active membership requires regular attendance, and hosting or assisting in a Small Group gathering. Support membership allows a member to attend General meetings. Annual dues are thirty dollars ($30.00) and need to be paid by June 1st each year. Members are encouraged to join The Japan-America Society of Georgia, our parent organization. Tomodachi Club dues can be applied toward any level of JASG membership.
